Have and Has

Have and has both mean the same thing — to own or possess something.

But we use them differently depending on who we are talking about!


Use have with…Use has with…

  • I have a dog. 🐶
  • You have a nice smile. 😊
  • We have a new teacher.
  • They have many books. 📚
  • The children have coloured pencils. 🖍️

  • He has a red bicycle. 🚲
  • She has long hair. 💇
  • It has a long tail. 🐈
  • The cat has soft fur. 🐱
  • Aditi has a yellow bag. 🎒
  • Rohan has a football. ⚽

If you can replace the subject with he, she, or it → use HAS
If you can replace the subject with I, you, we, or they → use HAVE

Negative with HAVENegative with HAS
