Pronouns — Words That Replace Nouns

A pronoun is a word that replaces a noun so we don’t have to repeat it.

Instead of saying: Aditi is reading. Aditi likes books.
We say: Aditi is reading. She likes books.

The word She is a pronoun — it replaced the noun Aditi.
