Future Tense

The future tense is used to talk about things that will happen later — tomorrow, next week, or someday.


Structure: Subject + will + base verb

SentenceMeaning

Negative: Subject + will not (won’t) + base verb

  • I won’t be late.
  • He will not forget.

Question: Will + subject + base verb?

  • Will you come?
  • Will she help?

Structure: Subject + am/is/are + going to + base verb

These words often appear with future tense:
