Adverbs

An adverb is a word that describes a verb (an action word).

Adverbs tell us how, when, where, or how often an action happens.


These adverbs tell us how something is done:

loudlyShe sings loudly. ๐ŸŽค

Tip: Many adverbs of manner end in -ly!


These adverbs tell us when something happens:

These adverbs tell us how often something happens:

Underline the adverb in each sentence:

  1. The bird flew high in the sky.
  2. Please walk carefully on the wet floor.
  3. They always help each other.
  4. She finished the work quickly.
  5. The baby sleeps soundly at night.
