Pronoun (Words that replace nouns)

A pronoun is a word that replaces a noun to avoid repeating it.

I, you, he, she, it, we, they
me, him, her, us, them
my, your, his, her, its, our, their

  1. Ria is playing. → She is playing.
  2. Arjun and I are reading. → We are reading.
  3. I saw the dog. → I saw it.
  4. Children are running. → They are running.

  • Teacher is kind. → She/He is kind.
  • Aditi is drawing. → She is drawing.
  • The book is red. → It is red.
  • Rohan and Sia are here. → They are here.

Say the sentence twice: first with the noun, then with a pronoun.

  • 👩‍🏫 The teacher is smiling. → She is smiling.
  • 🐶 The dog is cute. → It is cute.
  • 🧒 A boy is running. → He is running.
  • 👫 Aditi and Papa are reading. → They are reading.
